Shoulder impingement also known as pain in the front of the shoulder is diagnosed when the tendons of the rotator cuff get pinched under the shoulder blade. It can be caused by excessive overhead movements, or inflammation within the shoulder joint. Shoulder impingement can be problem due to starting a new workout routine, or doing a household activity. Ultimately the pain is caused by not having enough strength within your shoulder muscles to do the overhead exercise/activity. The video touches on basic exercises and the progressions to help strengthen those shoulder muscles. Start with the basic exercises and if they are too easy, move on to the progressions. The key with all the exercises to strengthen the posterior shoulder muscles, improve posture, take the pressure off the front of the shoulder and allow for the rotator cuff in the back of the shoulder to be more resilient.
