The British monarchy has been in place for centuries, and while the royal family currently holds a little less real power than it did a few hundred years ago, it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon. Or is it? Times are changing, and the role of the British monarchy is feeling less relevant the closer we get to Prince Charles’ ascension to the throne. It's a question more and more people are asking nowadays: what would happen if the British got rid of their monarchy? Well, the answer is a little contentious, and it all depends on a number of variables. But here's what would happen if Britain got rid of their monarchy. #TheQueen #RoyalFamily #Monarchy The pariah prince | 0:00 The impossible consensus | 1:30 Tourism | 2:15 The cost of a queen | 3:35 Palace exodus | 4:38 The common Windsors | 5:38 Get a job | 6:38 A farewell to ceremony | 7:36 Head of state | 8:46 Later, lords | 9:41 Read Full Article: 🤍

Unusually for a 21st Century teenager, Noah is a passionate advocate for monarchism. In the modern world, what can a figurehead monarch contribute to society? As Noah argues, a great deal, including stability and non-partisan concern for the welfare of all citizens. Noah gave this talk in his final year of high-school at the International School of Prague. He has lived in Washington DC and New Jersey in the US, and the Czech Republic throughout high school. The three things he loves most are food, dogs, and history, one of which he has been accepted to study at Oxford from the fall of 2018.
