Hydrogen bomb how does it work? The bomb on Hiroshima released the energy equivalent of 15,000 tons of TNT. The first hydrogen bomb released the energy equivalent of 10,000,000 tons of TNT. While the atomic bomb like the one that was dropped on Hiroshima worked on the principle of releasing energy through the splitting of atoms – also called fission, a hydrogen bomb does something that releases even more energy, and that is it fuses atoms together. Fusion is even more powerful than fission. It is the same process that powers our sun. How does fusion work? The fusion bomb creates energy by combining two isotopes of hydrogen called deuterium and Tritium to create helium. A large amount of energy is released when these two isotopes fuse together to form helium because a helium atom has much less energy than these two isotopes combined. This excess energy is released in the explosion. Lithium-deuteride is what most hydrogen bombs today use as their fuel. But how does the process of fusion actually occur? Ordinarily the nuclei of two atoms cannot be combined because these nuclei have strong positive electrical charges and repel each other. It turns out that if you increase the temperature by millions of degrees, it is possible to combine nuclei together. The temperatures needed are astronomical - higher than even that at the center of the sun – 100 million degrees Celsius. This is when the electrons orbiting the nuclei is stripped away from the nucleus and the nuclei and electrons are floating around freely in a kind of high temperature soup. At this temperature, the nuclei can get very close to each other and the strong nuclear strong force binds the protons and neutrons together to form a helium nucleus and a free neutron. So how is a temperature of 100 million degrees achieved? This is where the fission or atomic bomb inside the hydrogen bomb enclosure comes in. The purpose of the fission bomb is to to heat up the fusion reaction to this 100 million of degrees. A hydrogen bomb is three bombs in one - an ordinary chemical bomb, a fission bomb, and a fusion bomb. The chemical bomb initiates the fission bomb which initiates the fusion bomb. A small atomic bomb is located at the top of the casing. The top of the sphere contains conventional chemical explosives surrounding a sphere of beryllium mirror casing, inside of which is a smaller uranium or plutonium sphere about 4 to 6 inches in diameter. Below this atomic bomb is the hydrogen or fusion bomb. It consists of a cylinder made of uranium, the fuel for the fusion reaction, lithium deuteride sits inside the cylinder. And at the core of this cylinder sits a rod of plutonium. #nuclearbomb #hydrogenbomb In between the fission and fusion bomb is Styrofoam. First, the fission bomb is detonated by exploding conventional chemical bombs in sequence, this forces the sphere of plutonium 239 or Uranium 235 to implode on itself. The implosion of this material creates a critical mass which results in an atomic explosion. This fission explosion creates high energy gamma rays and X-rays which heat up the Styrofoam turning it into plasma. The plasma reflects off the beryllium-lined walls and focuses its energy on the fusion cylinder. These x-rays travel at the speed of light, so they reach the hydrogen fuel sooner than the physical shock wave from atomic bomb. This is important because if the shock wave reached there first, the fusion bomb would be blown apart before it could create fusion reactions. The heat and pressure of the plasma compresses the fusion cylinder causing the lithium-deuteride to react. This releases tritium. The Tritium and deuterium fuse to form Helium and more neutrons. The neutrons cause the uranium casing and plutonium rod to undergo more fission reactions. This causes more pressure on the lithium-deuteride, producing more fusion, and releasing more neutrons which cause more fission. This positive feedback loop of fission-fusion-fission-fusion reactions goes back and forth until a huge explosion occurs ripping everything apart. All of these events happen in about 600 billionths of a second. The result is a huge explosion. And where does all this energy come from? The sum of all atoms after the explosion would be less than the sum of all the atoms before the explosion. This mass is converted to energy using Einstein’s famous equation E=MC^2. #Hydrogenbomb #Atomicbomb And exactly how much mass is converted to energy? To give you an idea, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima converted 700 miligrams of mass into energy. The total uranium used was 55 lbs. A hydrogen bomb however converts about a kilogram or 2 lbs of mass to pure energy. But in order to convert this much, you have to start with about 140 kilos or 300 lbs. of hydrogen. Only six countries have such bombs —China, France, India, Russia, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Covert Cabal's video can be found here: 🤍 Tritium (along with Deuterium) is used as a "booster" in fission weapons. All modern thermonuclear weapons use tritium boosters. (Basically, the tritium fuses with the Deuterium to produce helium and an extra neutron. This extra neutron will help create fission in the remaining plutonium) However, Tritium has a half-life of 12.26 years. This means that half of it will naturally decay into Helium3. If the Tritium isn't periodically replaced, it the reaction will "Fizzle." You will still get an explosion, but it may not be what you want. Russia's economy is roughly the size of the State of New York's. And Russia is attempting to maintain an Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Program and nuclear program. So much in the way that you might put off changing the battery in a smoke detector because their is no immediate danger of fire, Russia may have put off maintaining the tritium in their thermonuclear weapons because they are unlikely to be used. But the airspace is so contested that doing this creates the risk of the delivery aircraft being shot down. No officer wants to be the pilot who was shot down and captured while carrying a nuclear weapon.

North Korea unveiled some new, smaller nuclear warheads on Tuesday (March 28). And vowed to produce more weapons-grade nuclear material to expand the country's arsenal, state media KCNA said. The broadcaster released these photos of the warheads, dubbed Hwasan-31s, as leader Kim Jong Un visited the Nuclear Weapons Institute. Experts say the images could indicate progress in miniaturizing warheads that are powerful yet small enough to mount on intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of striking the U.S. KCNA said Kim Jong Un claimed the enemy of the country's nuclear forces is not a specific state or group - but "war and nuclear disaster themselves." Adding that the policy of expanding the arsenal is solely aimed at defending the country. North Korea has been ramping up tensions in recent days. It fired short-range ballistic missiles on Monday, conducted a nuclear counterattack simulation last week against the U.S. and South Korea, and also testing a nuclear-capable underwater attack drone again on March 25-27. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said North Korea does not deserve "a single penny" of economic aid while pushing for nuclear development, his spokesman said. A South Korean military spokesman said that additional tests and analysis would be needed to verify whether the North's new warheads are deployable, but that its report on the underwater drone was likely "exaggerated and fabricated." Also on Tuesday, a U.S. carrier strike group led by the USS Nimitz docked at the Busan naval base in South Korea after conducting joint maritime drills. It was the carrier's first visit in nearly six years - intended to improve U.S. extended deterrence given the North's evolving threats, South Korea's navy said. All river crossings create natural choke points and the destruction of bridging units create losses of equipment and talent that are difficult to replace. Right now, the wind is blowing northeast, so if Russia decides to use a nuclear weapon, they are likely to wait until the wind is blowing to the southwest. It is most likely that Russia deliver a nuclear weapon by air - most likely an SU-34 since any other delivery method increases the chances that a crew will refuse to follow orders. Hear from historians and those who experienced the dawn of the atomic age. t began innocently enough. In 1938, two German chemists accidentally discovered how to split the nucleus of the uranium atom: nuclear fission. Einstein’s E=mc2 equation predicted that the amount of energy released from just one atom would be enormous. Physicists all over the world immediately realized that fission might make a bomb of extraordinary power — and that Nazi Germany might be capable of creating one. The fear of Adolph Hitler getting a nuclear weapon led to a race to deter him by developing such a bomb first. Thus began a chain of events that would lead inexorably to Hiroshima, the nuclear arms race, the hydrogen bomb, the Cuban Missile Crisis and some of the greatest fear and tension ever in world history. More About "The Bomb" "The Bomb" explores how what started as simple scientific curiosity ultimately resulted in a weapon capable of ending civilization. The invention, says historian Richard Rhodes, “Was a millennial change in human history: for the first time, we were now capable of our own destruction, as a species.” The program recounts the bomb’s history, as well as the successes, failures and moral dilemmas of the personalities who created it. We learn how it was developed and how it quickly changed everything, from international relations to politics, culture, even sex. No less than the discovery of fire, the bomb marks a dividing line in human history between all that came before it, and everything that follows. For the first time, humans acquired the ability to destroy themselves, and we are still struggling to learn how to live with this awesome power. Decades after it first appeared, the bomb has receded in the public consciousness — but it continues to shape our lives. We hear from scientists, weapons designers, pilots who dropped nuclear bombs, former Secretaries of Defense and State who wrestled with the bomb’s impact on international diplomacy, witnesses to nuclear explosions, historians, and ordinary men and women who have lived and worked with the Bomb. Since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, nuclear weapons have been detonated on over two thousand occasions for the purposes of testing and demonstration. Only a few nations possess such weapons or are suspected of seeking them. The only countries known to have detonated nuclear weapons—and acknowledge possessing them—are (chronologically by date of first test) the United States, the Soviet Union (succeeded as a nuclear power by Russia), the United Kingdom, France, the People's Republic of China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Israel is also believed to possess nuclear weapons, though in a policy of deliberate ambiguity, it does not acknowledge having them. Germany, Italy, Turkey, Belgium and the Netherlands are nuclear weapons sharing states. South Africa is the only country to have independently developed and then renounced and dismantled its nuclear weapons. The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons aimed to reduce the spread of nuclear weapons, but its effectiveness has been questioned, and political tensions remained high in the 1970s and 1980s. Modernisation of weapons continues to occur. Four countries besides the five (USA, UK, China, France and Russia) recognized Nuclear Weapons States have acquired, or are presumed to have acquired, nuclear weapons: India, Pakistan, North Korea, and Israel. None of these four is a party to the NPT, although North Korea acceded to the NPT in 1985, then withdrew in 2003 and conducted announced nuclear tests in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2016. One critique of the NPT is that it is discriminatory in recognizing as nuclear weapon states only those countries that tested nuclear weapons before 1968 and requiring all other states joining the treaty to forswear nuclear weapons. Research into the development of nuclear weapons was undertaken during World War II by the United States (in cooperation with the United Kingdom and Canada), Germany, Japan, and the USSR. The United States was the first and is the only country to have used a nuclear weapon in war, when it used two bombs against Japan in August 1945. With their loss during the war, Germany and Japan ceased to be involved in any nuclear weapon research. In August 1949, the USSR tested a nuclear weapon. The United Kingdom tested a nuclear weapon in October 1952. France developed a nuclear weapon in 1960. The People's Republic of China detonated a nuclear weapon in 1964. India exploded a nuclear device in 1974, and Pakistan conducted a series of nuclear weapon tests in May 1998, following tests by India earlier that month.
