Here is a list of the foods we found at the market outside of Oaxaca, Mexico: 1) MESSY Carnitas tacos - served with a selection of 3 different spicy salsas and with two corn tortillas to keep all the JUICY pork meat inside! Super delicious! 2) BIG stuffed and folded over tortilla known as the tlayuda, a true Oaxacan food specialty! It was served with Oaxacan string cheese, salsa, guacamole, and spicy chorizo sausage 3) Delicious Mexican BBQ - Here we found the meat lane, serving up a ton of different different cuts of meat, from thinly sliced beef and pork to the amazing and spicy chorizo sausage, it was all super delicious! 4) Cow foot soup also known as caldo de pata, made with a rich tomato broth full of spices and served with nice jelly like cow feet, this was definitely a must try dish in Oaxaca! 5) Super plump pork sandwich bun. 🎥Watch - Tijuana Street Food (Part 1): 🤍 🙏Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue: 🤍 👍100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here: 🤍 Ultimate Mexican street food tour of Tijuana, Mexico (Part 2). This was actually the same day as Part 1, but there were so many tacos, I had to split the video in two. We continued this epic Mexican street food tour with seafood tacos, the original Caesar’s salad, carne asada, and the fastest taco maker in the world! #Tijuana #MexicanFood #streetfood Thanks to my friend Jeffrey Merrihue (🤍 for arranging this tour. When you’re in Santa Monica, go eat at his restaurant, Heroic Italian (🤍 where you’ll find the best sandwich. Also, thanks to Scott Koenig: 🤍 for setting this tour up. Mariscos el Mazateño - Shrimp Enchilado - This place was absolutely amazing - and I knew it was going to be good when we walked in in the middle of the afternoon and it was packed. We had a couple different tacos, including the marlin with octopus, but the winner was the shrimp enchilado, a huge taco stuffed with spiced shrimp and cheese. Caesar's Hotel - Original Caesar’s salad - Although this doesn’t fit in the Mexican street food theme, there was no way we could visit Tijuana without trying the original Caesar’s salad - where Caesar Cardini invented it. It was awesome, to see the entire process made before you and it was everything it needed to be, no more and no less. Must eat when you’re in Tijuana, Mexico. Tacos El Vaquero - Carne Asada - This small stall late at night in Tijuana is a winner - their Sonoran style carne asada is out of this world. They grill up steaks of your choice, slice them up, into tortillas, and you have a choice of salsa. Absolutely stunning. Tacos Fitos - Tijuana, Mexico - Finally, this is the tacos tall in Tijuana that we missed in the morning the day before because they had already sold out. But we came back the next morning. Not only are their Tijuana red oil birria tacos the best I’ve ever had, but their taco master is by far the fastest taco maker I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable, you will have dreams about Tacos Fitos. That wraps up this insane ultimate Mexican street food tacos tour of Tijuana, Mexico. Thank you for watching! ►Subscribe to Lalo’s channel: 🤍 ►T-shirts available now: 🤍 Welcome to the best tacos in the world - the ultimate guide to Mexican street food tacos in Mexico City! I met up with Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha (🤍 he’s from Mexico City, he makes videos about street food as well. And he took me to his favorite tacos in all of Mexico City. We each ate the most tacos in one single day that we’d ever eaten in our lives, and it was the greatest taco day of my life! Here are all the places we ate in this video: Tacos Joven - They are known for their tacos de canasta, which are basket tacos, famous in Mexico City. They are served from a basket, and they keep hot the entire day as they are served. The highlight here was the chicharrón taco with chicharrón salsa. Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco Taqueria El Abanico - This is Lalo’s favorite restaurant in Mexico City for carnitas, the wildly popular braised pork taco. The entire rib in my taco was the highlight, so tender and flavorful. Price - 20 MXN ($1.08) per taco El Pescadito de Sonora - Originating from Hermosillo in Sonora, El Pescadito serves Mexican seafood tacos, especially shrimp or marlin tacos. Their tacototo is a taco that will change your life. This was as good as food gets for me. Price - 35 MXN ($1.89) per taco Tacos Charly - When it comes to Mexican street food, suadero is one of the greatest, a massive pan of slow braising beef in its juices. When you order your tacos, they slice up the meat, dip your tortilla in the fat, and you eat it with onions, cilantro, and salsa - pure meat heaven. Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco Taqueria Los Güeros - Tacos de tripa, intestines, are very popular in Mexico City as well. They may not be the most pretty tacos, but they are immensely flavorful and have all sorts of different textures going on in your mouth. Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco Tacos Los Juanes - This is a great Mexican street food restaurant in Mexico City that serves all sorts of different tacos. We came for the tacos de cabeza and tacos de lengua, both of which were fantastic Price - 10 MXN ($0.54) per taco El Vilsito - For Mexican street food in Mexico City, the ultimate taco, the most loved by everyone is no doubt, Al Pastor. Cooked in the vertical spit, a technique brought over from Lebanese immigrants, Al Pastor is usually made with marinated pork that’s juicy and flavorful it might make you weep tears of joy. Lalo and I ordered, not just your ordinary tacos de al pastor, but the King of all tacos, the Gringa! Price - 50 MXN ($2.70) each Thanks again to Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha: 🤍 This was the greatest taco day of my life. Thank you for watching! Use Coupon Code: chopsticktravel to get 10% off your Manta Sleep! 🤍 🔥🥩 This is the REAL and TRADITIONAL Mexican barbacoa made in an UNDERGROUND PIT! Welcome to the Oaxacan countryside, where we will be meeting a local family that makes barbacoa (Mexican BBQ) in an underground pit. It took us about 2 hours to drive into the mountains of Oaxaca to the village of Villa Sola de Vega. We are showing you how it is made from scratch with 100KG of marinated beef! Watch the process from start to finish, and see how the entire barbacoa is sold out within minutes. The end result is mind-blowing! The family was kind enough to also have us for breakfast. Our breakfast appetizer was homemade Mezcal and chapulines. After some snacking and drinking, we joined the whole family in the dinning room to have tamales (made with Oaxacan mole), concha and Mexican hot chocolate. Absolutely delicious! We also visited a real Mezcal producer in another rural village. We were shown how they produce pure Mezcal from the agave plant, how the pulp is fermented and then double distilled. Their Mezcal is purely organic and WOW super strong! The Mezcal has a distinct smokiness that makes it so unique. We would like to thank Samantha, her sister Cassandra and their family for welcoming us into their home in Oaxaca and giving us the opportunity to see barbacoa prepared the authentic way! It was so delicious and we are so grateful for their kind hospitality. Go check out Samantha’s travel channel here : 🤍 Thank you for watching our MEXICO series! Traditional Mexican cuisine - ancestral, ongoing community culture, the Michoacán paradigm

08.11.2010

UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2010 URL: 🤍 Description: Traditional Mexican cuisine is a comprehensive cultural model comprising farming, ritual practices, age-old skills, culinary techniques and ancestral community customs and manners. It is made possible by collective participation in the entire traditional food chain: from planting and harvesting to cooking and eating. The basis of the system is founded on corn, beans and chili; unique farming methods such as milpas (rotating swidden fields of corn and other crops) and chinampas (man-made farming islets in lake areas); cooking processes such as nixtamalization (lime-hulling maize, which increases its nutritional value); and singular utensils including grinding stones and stone mortars. Native ingredients such as varieties of tomatoes, squashes, avocados, cocoa and vanilla augment the basic staples. Mexican cuisine is elaborate and symbol-laden, with everyday tortillas and tamales, both made of corn, forming an integral part of Day of the Dead offerings. Collectives of female cooks and other practitioners devoted to raising crops and traditional cuisine are found in the State of Michoacán and across Mexico. Their knowledge and techniques express community identity, reinforce social bonds, and build stronger local, regional and national identities. Those efforts in Michoacán also underline the importance of traditional cuisine as a means of sustainable development. Francisco Gómez is back on his quest to discover everything there is to know about tacos in Mexico. On this episode, he's exploring Quiroga in Michoacán, the carnitas capital of the world. Braising carnitas (literally, "little meats") is the juicy, tasty way to prepare pork by slow-cooking it in its own fat. The final result is pink on the inside and perfectly caramelized on the outside. Gómez visits the Ayala family who have been cooking and selling carnitas tacos in Quiroga for five generations. Also, watch to the end to find out about charanda, a rum-like spirit that pairs with carnitas perfectly. Restaurant Style Fajitas (Authentic Mexican Recipe)

Very few plates at a Mexican restaurant grab your attention like a plate of sizzling fajitas. First you hear it, then you smell it…then you wish you ordered that platón instead of the chicken enchiladas. In this video we’re cooking up Restaurant Style Fajitas. I decided to grab some outside skirts for maximum tenderness, but beware when shopping for them. This particular cut goes fast in stores as restaurants demand such large quantities of it. Either side of skirt will have you eating good either way. And here is the weekly Pro Tip: Don’t over cook them! Common sense, I know, but you would be surprised how easy these can get away from you. Both the scorching plancha and the sizzling platter can keep the fajitas cooking even more and dry out what would otherwise be delicious and tender meat. Shoot for a medium or even medium-rare before you plate it on skillet to serve. I always say that BBQ is simple, and although we aren’t on a live fire today the principles still apply. A scorching hot heat source, a great cut of beef and a little technique is all it takes for a dinner that will blow away any one who is lucky enough to chow down. 🔥 Boston Food Tour: 🤍 🔔 SUBSCRIBE: 🤍 Don’t miss new food videos! TUCSON, ARIZONA - Welcome to Tucson, Arizona, one of the best Mexican food cities in the United States, and one of the great places to eat Sonoran Mexican food. When it comes to Sonoran food, the King of all dishes is carne asada, or grilled steak - grilled meat. In Northern Mexico is where they have cattle ranches that produce the best beef in the country. Tucson has many authentic local restaurants and street food stalls that specialize in carne asada, and today we’re going on an ultimate carne asada tour of Tucson! Thanks to my friends Carlos and Annette for joining us on this tour and Alejandro (if you’re in Tucson and need transportation, look him up). 📍 Los Tacos Apson (🤍 - First place is Los Tacos Apson one of the best taquerias for carne asada in Tucson, and one of the best in the United States! They have a variety of things from the grill, including beef ribs, steak cuts, calf testicles, and a few other unique parts. They grill everything over mesquite to give all meat an amazing smoky taste. Their tacos and ribs and outstanding! 📍 El Guero Canelo (🤍 - Next up we met up with the owner of El Guero Canelo to taste his version of carne asada. He grills his high quality beef over mesquite and the burritos are huge. I love their salsa and toppings bar. 📍 Taqueria Aqui Con El Nene (🤍 - Continuing on this Mexican street food tour, Taqueria Aqui Con El Nene is another place that specializes in carne asada, especially Obregon style. Their taco yaqui, with includes carne asada, mushrooms, and bacon all melted within an open faced green chile and settled onto two overlapping flour tortillas is insanely delicious. 📍 Karamelo King (🤍 - Finally to complete this Mexican street food tour in Tucson, we went to Karamelo King to eat a karamelo, which is basically a stuffed quesadilla. They grill the carne asada fresh, then melt cheese on a tortilla, load it up with toppings, and serve it with onions and salsas on the side. It’s absolutely spectacular! And that completes this ultimate King of carne asada, Mexican street food tour in Tucson, Arizona - again one of the best Mexican food cities in the United States! 🎵MUSIC: 🤍 —————————————————— 🍌100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here: 🤍 👕Get t-shirts and caps: 🤍 —————————————————— 📱FOLLOW: Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍
