We got an inside look at the United States Navy's 10-week basic training program. Chief video correspondent Graham Flanagan spent five days inside Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, where he observed different companies at various stages of training at the facility located about 35 miles north of Chicago. Recruits must pass a physical assessment and a swim qualification before they train in seamanship, firefighting, and weapons training. They're also exposed to tear gas inside a confidence chamber where they learn to correctly wear gas masks. Training culminates with “Battle Stations” an all-night event that takes place on a mock Navy destroyer ship designed by companies who have created theme park attractions for Walt Disney World. After completing the event, recruits officially become sailors when they receive their US Navy ball caps. The Secret Stealth Aircraft Keeping Aircraft Carriers Running

First conceived during World War 1, mid-air refueling has become a crucial concept of US air supremacy doctrine. And despite the idea not being thoroughly developed until the Cold War era, being able to extend the ranges of bombers and fighters by a factor of five or more became a significant threat to the Soviet Union, as American warplanes could now reach every corner of their territory. Today, the US has over 700 tanker aircraft, more than double what the rest of the world has combined. And if that weren't enough, the Navy will now revolutionize the United States’ already remarkable capabilities by unleashing the first aerial refueling drone. The futuristic-looking Boeing MQ-25 Stingray is designed to continue boosting the range of American aircraft worldwide by deploying from aircraft carriers, intercepting friendly planes, refueling them, and returning to base, all while being remotely operated. If the project succeeds, it will not only bolster America's already unmatched air supremacy around the world, but it will also unveil a new age of synchronized man and unmanned aircraft operations, promising to keep the US ahead of any antagonistic military forces…

Hello Everyone, You're watching the channel US Military Times. Today we will show you The US Navy New Deadly Unmanned Fighter Plane. Unmanned systems, particularly autonomous ones, have to be the new normal in ever-increasing areas. For example, as good as it is, and as much as we need it and look forward to having it in the fleet for many years, the F-35 should be, and almost certainly will be, the last manned strike fighter aircraft the Department of the Navy will ever buy or fly, said Mabus. In addition, Mabus' comments seem to indicate that the Navy's conceptual developmental effort to envision a new carrier-launched fighter to replace the F/A-18 Super Hornet called the F/A-XX program may wind up engineering an unmanned platform for the mission. Creating a senior post focused on unmanned aviation is an important recognition by the Navy that this technology will do much to determine the service's future and requires senior leadership within the Department to ensure its successful utilization. The future of the Carrier Air Wing is linked with the development of an unmanned system able to execute long-range, penetrating strike missions in anti-access environments. But before continuing, don't forget to click subscribe and activate your notification bells so that together we can share interesting information from US Military Times. The life of a sailor can be difficult and taxing at times. Crew members often spend weeks or even months away from home and do not exactly lead a luxurious life while doing so. On an aircraft carrier, it is common knowledge that officers enjoy superior living conditions to those of the sailors. Why is there such a difference in the life of an officer and a sailor? ins vikrant new aircraft carrier, indian aircraft carrier, aircraft carrier takeoff, us aircraft carrier, uss gerald ford aircraft carrier. A member of the Navy who serves in the enlisted ranks is called a sailor, while officers are Members of the Navy or Navy Reserve who meet the minimum educational criteria of possessing a degree from a college or university that offers a four-year program and who have completed Officer Training are eligible to become commissioned officers. Officers have separate berthing areas from enlisted personnel which is commonly referred to as “officer country.” Officers have their private quarters in which they sleep. Mess decks are where junior sailors, leading seaman, and below sailors sleep. Senior sailors, including Petty Officers and higher, sleep in multi-berth rooms that are arranged according to their ranks, such as PO, CPO, and MCPO. The officers' quarters are all the same. The US Navy Brand New Stealth Destroyer Tests Its All Hypersonic Missile

26.11.2022

Hello Everyone, You're watching the channel US Military Times. Today we will show you The US Navy Brand New Stealth Destroyer. The Zumwalt-class destroyer is a class of three United States Navy guided missile destroyers designed as multi-mission stealth ships with a focus on land attack. It is a multi-role class that was designed for secondary roles of surface warfare and anti-aircraft warfare and originally designed with a primary role of naval gunfire support. The class design emerged from the DD-21 "land attack destroyer" program as "DD(X)" and was intended to take the role of battleships in meeting a congressional mandate for naval fire support. The ship is designed around its two Advanced Gun Systems, their turrets and magazines, and unique Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) ammunition. LRLAP procurement was cancelled, rendering the guns unusable, so the Navy re-purposed the ships for surface warfare. These ships are classed as destroyers, but they are much larger than any other active destroyer or cruiser in the US Navy. The vessels' distinctive appearance results from the design requirement for a low radar cross-section (RCS). The Zumwalt class has a wave-piercing tumblehome hull form whose sides slope inward above the waterline, which dramatically reduces RCS by returning much less energy than a conventional flare hull form. The appearance has been compared to that of the historic USS Monitor and her famous antagonist CSS Virginia. The class has an integrated electric propulsion (IEP) system that can send electricity from its turbo-generators to the electric drive motors or weapons, the Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure (TSCEI), automated fire-fighting systems, and automated piping rupture isolation. The class is designed to require a smaller crew and to be less expensive to operate than comparable warships. Why US Navy Sailors Risk Their Lives to Jump Off an Aircraft Carrier in Middle of the Sea

US Navy Sailors aboard a massive aircraft carrier get the chance to jump off the huge ship in the middle of the sea during their months-long mission. This is done under the strict supervision of shark guards and snipers who strategically stand on the deck and watch for sharks. The flight decks of these vessels can be as high as 60 feet from the ocean surface. There have been instances whereby sharks have crashed these swim calls and disrupted the leisure time of sailors. Why do sailors risk their lives to jump off the aircraft carrier? There was an incident in 2020 whereby a 6-foot shark came close to a group of American coastguards having their swim call in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. An officer, who was tasked with watching out for sharks during the swim call, was able to spot the monster when it was just 30 feet away from his companions. Sailors aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Kimball had to fire bullets at the sea monster to stop it from approaching their 40 colleagues in the water. Fortunately, nobody was harmed during the encounter. Swim calls are a huge tradition for US Naval sailors. At the time of their inception, swim calls were an opportunity for sailors to have a bath, seeing as there was no constant supply of water back then. Now, they are often seen as a break. It is necessary for the crew members to take a breather from their regular activities and blow off some steam, which is where swim calls come into play! #aircraftcarrier #usnavy #sailors #sharkattack

A Day In Life of a US Navy Captain Living On The Largest Aircraft Carrier

Commanding an aircraft carrier is one of the Navy's most difficult and time-consuming positions. Aircraft carriers are warships with over 5,000 sailors onboard. Because of the vast number of people and the numerous operational tasks that take place on a carrier, there is a necessity for someone to supervise and direct these operations. Like the mayor in a city, the captain provides the essential leadership and organizational structure to ensure the smooth operation of this "floating city." How does a day in the life of a captain aboard an aircraft carrier typically go? The captain oversees the ship's functioning and is assisted by a team of senior naval officers. These experienced officers, known as department heads, lead the numerous departments responsible for operations necessary to fulfill the ship's mission. The carrier's captain in the Navy is considered a line officer and is therefore entrusted with extensive authority over his ship. He is responsible for the overall performance of his ship as well as that of the crew, and as a result, he is granted extensive authority. Ultimately, he is the authority that makes the final choice for his command. The idea that a ship's captain should have such extensive responsibilities and ultimate accountability date back to the earliest days of command-at-sea when a ship and its crew were frequently cut off from any higher authority for extended periods and the ship's captain was solely responsible for the safety and success of his command. Although today's technology makes it possible for a contemporary carrier to maintain a strong connection with higher authorities, the captain's obligations regarding his crew, the ship, and the mission have not altered significantly. #usnavy #aircraftcarrier #sailors

As the years went by, Parche’s missions evolved from ordinary attack submarine operations to secretive covert spy undertakings. How US Navy Sailors Shop Inside An Aircraft Carrier

Over six thousand sailors make up the crew of aircraft carriers living at sea for months. Amenities are available on board to ensure that these sailors are comfortable and highly motivated when handling operations on an aircraft carrier. Some of the amenities you would find on an aircraft carrier include a laundry room that can wash and dry 50,000 pounds of clothing per week, a dry cleaner, a uniform shop, dental and medical offices, a tobacco shop, barber shops, and even a grocery store! Sailors spend most of their time at sea and, as a result, do not have access to the same variety of conveniences and facilities you have daily. The United States Navy has practically made available to its sailors everything they would have access to if they were stationed on land. This is done to ensure that the sailors remain in the best possible physical condition and that their morale remains high enough to allow them to carry out their duties efficiently. One of such facilities is the grocery store. A grocery store is of high necessity on an aircraft carrier. Even if one disregards the fact that having junk food available will keep morale high, there is still a valid rationale for ships to include convenience stores. The sailors must keep a supply of their razors or hygiene goods and food. There are all kinds of things available. The Navy would provide some of these things to sailors onboard an aircraft carrier, but sometimes sailors might need certain things; they can easily get that in the store. The store averages around $10,000 per day with over 1050 transactions. #aircraftcarrier #usnavy #sailors

We got an inside look at what it's like on the first day for new freshmen, known as "Plebes," at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Induction Day, or "I-Day," marks the beginning of "Plebe Summer," a challenging six-week basic training program all future midshipmen are required to complete. UPDATE: In the video, we list Cmdr. Beth Regoli’s title as the Commandant of Midshipmen. However, her correct title is Officer in Charge of Plebe Summer. We regret the error. China attacks Taiwan in 2023! US Navy can't stop it: US Admiral admits China is surpassing US at sea

Mike Gildy, the US Navy's chief of Naval operations, recently declared that China could attack Taiwan as early as 2023. His highly dramatic remarks came when he argued that the U.S. Navy was not prepared for an armed confrontation with China. "The U.S. Navy is incubating a doctrine that war is imminent," said Admiral Mike Gildy. He expressed concern about the rise of Russia and China in the military sphere. He made the Taiwan war estimate at a conference organized by the Atlantic Council think tank, where he said the U.S. Navy would likely need to engage with Chinese military forces in the coming years. As early as March 2021, Philip Davidson, commander of the US Pacific Command, publicly said that China could invade Taiwan by 2030. But Mr Gildy's predictions are more urgent. He described more than once that China could attack Taiwan from 2023. China has said it will reunify with Taiwan if necessary, and has not given up any options. Gildy also predicted that based on Chinese military exercises aimed at destroying U.S. Navy ships, notably a simulated attack on a U.S. Navy ship last September, he believes Chinese forces are training to prevent foreign forces from coming to Taiwan's aid in the event of war. To counter this potentially imminent threat, the admiral said, the Navy's priority is to increase the number of its ships as quickly as possible while preparing enough ammunition for a potential large-scale war. American soldiers must also be prepared, both technically and mentally, to play a role in such a large-scale conflict. In addition, he wanted to remove from the U.S. Navy many warships that he considered "too old and obsolete in terms of weapons." The admiral said the Navy's aging ships, which cost hundreds of millions of dollars to maintain, "pose no threat to the modern Chinese fleet." The US Department of Defense has drawn up a roadmap to modernise the US Navy by 2050, recognising that it may be weaker than the Chinese navy in the near future. The Navy aims to have at least 530 more warships by mid-century. To achieve this goal, the Pentagon is likely to significantly increase the number of unmanned vessels, like autonomous ships and submarines. Navy senior officers envision a future fleet that would include more light vessels, better suited for operations near the coast, rather than adding larger vessels such as aircraft carriers. The U.S. military currently has 11 carrier strike groups, and the Navy's 2050 plan will have only nine. In particular, Gildy warns that the program is still moving too slowly.
