Daily Lama EP24: Starting with an empty space, I take you through everything you need to get set up and riding, with budget in mind. Point being here is that it doesn't take an expensive smart trainer and power meter just to get rolling. Waste of money.
My windows based computer is getting old. I was thinking of going with a apple. Would you use a MacBook or a IPad?
Hi Mate, my MacBook Pro is 2011/12 model I think. Won’t accept zwift coz old operating system. How would I upgrade the OS? Don’t think it’s an option …
Thanks for this, setting up mine for the upcoming winter months
This isn't even close to a budget setup. That doesn't look like a cheap bike.
Kinetic by Kurt trainer with Bluetooth electronic and any smart phone your off. $150-$200 used
Hey, can I get Saris basic trainer, and buy extras to make it "smart"?
When you do this set up how do you know how much resistance to change on the bike when riding on Zwift? Is it a bit of guess work? I have ordered a indoor spin bike to set up can’t wait to get started!
So we dont have to steer the bike? Just working with pedals?
Really useful video to understand the setup. I also need to know how you change the resistance to mimic the changes you’d get on a smart trainer.
Looking for a indoor trainer fits Trek domaine bike , any recommendations
Checked kicker wheel on which is not compatible
Gr8 video as always just want to ask about consequences about accuracy, I'm also planning on buying a Lemond revolution when there's one cheap on marketplace since when I used my dumb trainer I went thru heaps of tyres and now the dumb trainer is awfull to work with very inconsistent but I have had allot of use out of it, I'm thinking of getting Lemond for that reason
Forgot to mention you may want to get a training slick tire for your rear wheel too reduce noise and wear on your regular tires
Does the trainer you using get affect but up and downhills in zwift or how does that work?
Would the Kurt kenetic wheel on trainer work with a solid rear axle ?
I found a free indoor spin bike on Gumtree, bought one sided power pedals for $600 AUD and installed them on the trainer. I wanted to buy a cheaper crank power meter but wasn't sure I could fit it.
I was previously using the Wahoo Vortex with my road bike and although my current setup is missing erg mode, it's quiet, stable and considerably more comfortable. If you have the room for a bike and dedicated indoor trainer, I could not recommend this setup enough.
Do you only need a speed sensor or also a cadence sensor?
Well and the ant stick
So if I have a regular magnetic trainer and have the cadence speed sensor that’s all I need to start swift?
