Rampage is a 1986 arcade game by Bally Midway. Players take control of gigantic monsters trying to survive against onslaughts of military forces. Each round is completed when a particular city is completely reduced to rubble. Up to three simultaneous players control the monsters George (a King Kong-like gorilla), Lizzy (a Godzilla-like dinosaur/lizard), or Ralph (a giant werewolf), created from mutated humans. They need to raze all buildings in a high-rise city to advance to the next, eating people and destroying helicopters, tanks, taxis, police cars, boats, and trolleys along the way. Monsters can jump and climb buildings, and punch enemies and buildings. Buildings also take damage when jumped on by a monster. The player receives damage from enemy bullets, grenades, shells and so forth, and from falls. Damage is recovered by eating appropriate food such as fruit, roast chicken, or soldiers. If a monster takes too much damage, it reverts back into a naked human and starts walking off the screen sideways, covering its genitals with its hands. While in this state, the player can be eaten by another player. If the player continues, the human mutates back into the monster, or flies in on a blimp if off-screen, with a full life bar. Rampage: Total Destruction (PS2) - Monster: George - City: Las Vegas Rampage: Total Destruction, as with previous games in the series, has players destroying the environment to earn points. Other actions are available in addition to destroying buildings; people can be eaten and players can also throw vehicles to cause more damage. New to the series is the ability to climb on the front of a building to destroy it. Hidden in each city are tokens which, when eaten, will unlock new characters and special abilities. Playing well fills a character's special meter which can be used to utilize special abilities such as Rampage mode or the Roar power. Total Destruction features four game modes. The first is a campaign in which players work to progressively take out cities around the world. King of the City and King of the World are competitive modes where up to four players compete. In King of the City, players strive to rule a city by dominating the most districts. King of the World is a series of King of the City competitions across various cities. The fourth mode is a time trial where players Marco and Natalie as with George and Ruby and Curtis and Lizzie from Rampage 2: Universal Tour.

Up to three simultaneous players control gigantic monsters who were formerly normal animals. The game's protagonists are George, a King Kong-like albino gorilla, Lizzie, a Rhedosaurus-like crocodile, and Ralph, a humongous wolf—all accidentally transformed by an experimental pathogen capable of modifying an animal's DNA via CRISPR. As monsters, they need to raze all buildings in a high-rise city to advance to the next level, eating people and destroying helicopters, tanks, taxis, police cars, boats, and trolleys along the way. Gameplay is largely the same as that of previous games in the franchise but there are a number of differences. Players can now destroy entire buildings much faster than before. A new "evolution" system allows players to collect power-ups and have their on-screen characters grow in size. This is part 1 of my capture of me and two friends playing through Rampage World Tour for the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Rampage World Tour cartridge. I'm player one (George), Luke is player two (Lizzy), and Michael is player three (Ralph). I was a fan of the original arcade Rampage back when I was a kid. I remember playing it at a nearby Round Table Pizza around the late '80s/early '90s. I have always been a fan of cooperative games, and Rampage was probably one of my earliest experiences with co-op gaming. I just loved getting my brother and whoever else to join me in demolishing buildings and eating people. I think it was around 1997 that Midway released a new Rampage game called Rampage World Tour. It featured better graphics and music, new moves, faster gameplay and scrolling levels. I played it at another pizza place shortly after it came out and thought it was awesome. When I heard about the N64 port through Nintendo Power, I decided I needed a copy of the game. I think I received Rampage World Tour for my birthday in early 1999 along with Yoshi's Story. My friends came over that day and we proceeded to demolish buildings and eat people. Rampage certainly made my birthday a bit more fun. Rampage can easily be called a mindless game. You either love it or hate it. I love it, but I only tend to play it with friends. Also, I tend to play it in short bursts, but this time, Luke, Michael and I got some beer and powered through the entire game - all 128 levels - in one sitting. The beer certainly helped. We spent a lot of time kicking each other's asses, but that's what you're supposed to do in this game. Giant, building-destroying monsters don't play nice with each other. Either that or it was the beer. If you watch this entire playthrough I will be shocked. In this first part we completed Days 1-31. Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official N64 S-video cable. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to upconvert the N64's native 240p signal to 480i so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal. I'm using a Sharkpad Pro 64 turbo controller and Luke and Michael are using standard N64 controllers.

Based both on Warner Bros./New Line Cinema recently released of movie adaptation of Rampage, which stars Dwayne Johnson, and the original 1986 Rampage arcade game by Midway, Adrenaline Amusement’s new Rampage arcade game features three-player mayhem and endless destruction. Players can embody classic characters, Ralph, Lizzie and George—but with updated visuals from the new movie. Set in Chicago, the monsters can undergo a three-stage evolution thanks to bonuses and with endless levels, there is no stopping Rampage’s fury on the city! Fun references to the original arcade game, including the lady with the red dress and electric signs, pay tribute to the game’s widespread appeal.

A playthrough of Data East's 1988 action game for the NES, Rampage. Two years after making a huge splash on arcade floors, Bally Midway's hit game Rampage stomped its way into homes across America by way of this US-exclusive NES title by Data East. Rampage gives you (and a friend if you make use of the 2P simultaneous co-op feature) direct control of a giant monster and sets you loose to destroy anything and everything in your path. Playing as either George (King Kong in all but name) or Lizzie (a girl Godzilla), the goal is to destroy the United States, one city at a time. Each of the 128 single-screen stages (referred to as "days") ends once you've leveled the area. You do this by scaling each building, punching wildly as you go. Once a third of the building has been smashed, the entire structure will collapse in on itself. Of course, the people in these cities won't allow you to do as you please unimpeded. Tanks and helicopters will pelt you ordinance while soldiers fire at you from open windows, all making for quite a chaotic scene. It's nothing that you can't handle as a 50s-era B-movie apex predator, though. You can stomp anything that gets underfoot, punch aerial attackers out of the sky, and eat anyone or anything in the part of a building that you're currently destroying. Noshing on people and beneficial items (food, booze, money) will restore health and/or increase your score, but you'll have to exercise some caution as some of the tasty treasures you'll find (toilets, cacti, candles, etc.) will stun or hurt you. You don't really have to worry too much about saving your own skin, though, since you'll immediately respawn so long as you hit the B button before your character escapes from the screen. You're given unlimited lives, so there isn't much challenge to be found in Rampage. Beating the game is more a test of your endurance - all 128 stages must be cleared in a single sitting - than it is a test of your dexterity. (Remember SNK's Guerilla War? 🤍 It did things much the same way.) While that might seem like a lot to ask, for as simple and repetitive as the game is, I rarely find myself bored by it. When I was in elementary school, my friend Danny got it as a Christmas present, and whenever we'd go to his house after school to play, the hours would fly by. Our games usually only ended when his mom would come in to announce that it was dinnertime. Maybe it's because of the fond memories of those times, but even now, an afternoon can disappear in a blink when I sit down for a game of Rampage. Sure, the graphics are ugly, the music sounds like it was pulled out of Paperboy, it's missing a character from the arcade game, and the gameplay makes a teaspoon look deep, but with Rampage, I never cared much about any of that. I enjoy it the same now as I did when I was eight years old. Not bad for a so-so 8-bit adaptation of a three-and-a-half decade old arcade game. _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Rampage World Tour is a video game released in 1997 and is the second game in the Rampage series. The game was developed as an arcade game for Midway Games by Game Refuge Inc. designers Brian Colin and Jeff Nauman, who conceived and designed the original in 1986. It was ported to the Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, PlayStation, Microsoft Windows and has been re-released on Midway Arcade Treasures 2 as well as being included in Rampage: Total Destruction. Like in the first Rampage game, the goal of every stage is to destroy all the buildings in each city while avoiding or destroying the military forces. If the player takes too long in destroying the city, jets will fly in and bomb the remaining buildings, ending the stage with a lower score.
